Employers

The Affordable Care Act has different implications for businesses depending upon your company’s size and whether you currently offer health benefit plans to employees.

*PLEASE NOTE:
Originally scheduled to take effect in 2014, the Obama administration delayed implementation of the employer mandate (employer shared responsibility) until 2015. The mandate requires businesses with 100 or more full-time equivalent employees to offer health insurance or pay a penalty. In 2016, the mandate will require businesses with 50 or more full-time equivalent employees to offer health insurance or pay a penalty.
