Executive Vice President, Provider Partnerships and Health Outcomes

Gretchen Twohig is the executive vice president, provider partnerships and health outcomes at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE). In her role, Twohig drives BCBSNE’s strategy to improve health outcomes and is responsible for relationships with health care providers and systems. She oversees BCBSNE’s medical management, population health, risk adjustment, provider contracting and value-based care teams.

Prior to her current role, Twohig served as executive vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary for BCBSNE, where she oversaw numerous teams, including legal, compliance, enterprise risk management, government relations, enterprise security, vendor management and corporate governance. Before joining BCBSNE, she was a partner at Baird Holm LLP, representing both individuals and businesses in complex, civil litigation.

Twohig is active in community service and serves on the boards of United Way of the Midlands, Ignite Nebraska, Think Nebraska, LLC, the Nebraska Blue Foundation and the Women’s Center for Advancement. She was also a participant in the 2006 ICAN Leadership in Action program and is a member of Leadership Omaha Class 36.

Twohig received her bachelor’s degree in political science from Texas Christian University and her juris doctorate from the University of Nebraska College of Law. She also participated in the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
