Nebraska HeartlandBlue Insurance

Individual and Family Health Plans

Nebraska HeartlandBlue

Affordable health coverage from a name you trust.

ACA-compliant plans with statewide provider access and support built for Nebraskans.

Ready to enroll?

Open Enrollment happens every year from November 1 to December 15.

This is the time when you can sign up for health coverage or make changes to your current plan — no special reason needed.

If something big happens in your life, like losing coverage, moving, getting married, having a baby, or adopting a child, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. That means you can get coverage outside of Open Enrollment.

No matter when you enroll, you can work with one of our health insurance experts or sign up on your own.

Get help paying for coverage

Don’t let the cost of health insurance stop you from getting coverage for your family. Many people can get help paying for their plan through a tax credit or other savings.

Tax credit to lower monthly costs

You may qualify for a tax credit called the Advanced Premium Tax Credit (APTC). It helps lower your monthly payment when you buy a plan through the government’s health insurance website. The amount you get depends on your household income and is figured out when you apply.

Extra savings on medical costs

You might also qualify for extra savings called a Cost-Sharing Reduction (CSR). This helps lower what you pay when you go to the doctor or get other medical care.

These extra savings are only available with Silver plans. How much you save depends on your income. You could pay less for:

  • Deductibles
  • Copays and coinsurance
  • Your yearly out-of-pocket maximum

If you’re American Indian or Alaska Native, you may get even more benefits.

Health insurance issuers offering individual health insurance coverage or short-term limited duration plans in the individual market must let individuals know about direct and indirect compensation provided to the agent or broker. The broker’s compensation is paid by the insurance carrier. Monthly premium is the same whether or not individuals use a broker. View 2024 information here.
