2026 Notice of Creditable Coverage
Employers with 2-150 employees may find their creditability plan status and instructions on how to disclose this information on NebraskaBlue.com.
Fully insured and ASO groups with 151+ employees will receive creditability plan status in the mail within 60 days of the plan’s effective date.
From time to time, we receive questions from brokers and employer groups about claims processing turnaround times, especially when it comes to high cost and/or complex claims.
BCBSNE processes health care claims according to Nebraska state law and Department of Insurance regulations, and in compliance with our employer group benefit documents and related stop loss contracts. Part of meeting these requirements includes ensuring appropriate quality oversight and internal consultant recommendations are in place to process the claim with both payment integrity and fiscal responsibility.
This is especially important for high cost and/or complex claims, which almost always involve a unique set of facts and circumstances that must be considered in the review process. While these claims may sometimes take more time to review than others, BCBSNE applies the same process and timeliness standards to all high cost and/or complex claims across all lines of business.
