HM to be standard stop-loss solution

HM Life Insurance Company (HM) will become the standard stop-loss solution for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) starting April 1, 2020. However, we will continue to offer alternative stop-loss options through our other preferred stop-loss carriers, with no additional fee.

“We have worked with HM for several years to offer stop-loss products to our self-funded customers,” said Mark Dolsky, BCBSNE’s vice president of sales. “We’re expanding our preferred relationship with them because of their size, expertise and our excellent experience with them.”

HM is one of the nation's leading stop-loss carriers, with a book of business totaling more than $800 million. Your self-funded clients will receive competitive stop-loss rates because of HM’s national presence, and your groups will continue to have access to Blue Cross and Blue Shield provider network discounts.

Your clients will also benefit from HM’s innovative product designs, as well as simplicity at renewal — no additional disclosures or new lasers required. Covered services, exclusions and limitations on coverage under the stop-loss agreement will align with your groups’ self-funded health benefits programs.

You will receive more information about HM’s stop-loss services when your self-funded groups renew with us or when you sell new business with us. In the meantime,  please read these Q&As if you have questions.
